Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ Cups sugar
  • 14 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ tbsp kosher salt
  • ½ tbsp grated orange zest
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tbsp baking soda

Instructions
 

  • Infuse the Butter: First, melt the butter and steep Earl Grey tea leaves in it for about 5 minutes. Then strain the butter to remove the tea leaves.
  • Mix Ingredients: Next, cream the butter with sugar, brown sugar, and orange zest. Blend in the egg and vanilla until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the flour, baking powder, and baking soda until the dough forms. To ensure an even texture, combine the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Shape and Bake: Finally, roll the dough into balls, coat them in sugar, and bake them at 350°F for 16–19 minutes.

Notes

For an extra touch, drizzle the cooled cookies with a simple lemon glaze made from powdered sugar and lemon juice.
